The Birket from the M53 eastwards

The Birket from the M53 eastwards

Photos 1 and 2 are about as far as it's possible to get. Beyond here, the Birket is hidden between the railway line to Liverpool and the Tesco Direct superstore.

The bridge in the distance is the Bidston Link Road. Beyond, the Birket is largely in a man-made culvert until it reaches the Water Control House at the Wallasey Bridge Road roundabout.

This photo is taken in the small part of the Bidston Moss Nature Reserve adjacent to where photo 2 was taken.

Taken from the bridge over Bidston railway station. The last time I stood here, the bridge was wood, I ran up the steps like a 10 year-old (I was a 10 year old!) and we were engulfed in steam from the Bidston to Wrexham trains.
